Nicks Pizza. Now this is a great way to start off this room, showing on of Wellsville's favorite and long time establishments. I take mine with hot peppers, always.
Thanks for the room Matt we needed a place like this for a long time and I am glad to see it. Sounds like its going to be a pretty good running for Mayor in DA VILLE after all.
Even though I have not been to any of wellsville's football games, it seems to me that when you have a 6'5 reciever and you have a defender who is 5'10 at best, shouldn't you use that to your advantage? From what I have read and what I have been told, Zane Carter should have some ridiculous numbers as a reciever. Like I said I have not been to the games, so please, what is your opinion or what do you think why he is not getting the ball more?

If Ohio would stop being so self righteous and legalize gambling, those people would be spending this money in our state! Games of skill are just a substituion for not being able to gamble in Ohio.

We should never loose to Southern Local. Let alone 2 years in a row. It is embarrasing what our football program has turned into under this coach.
Losing to Southern, that is true embarassment.
I don't think there is much progress with the theater restoration. I do know that they got new seating and someone once told me there is a beautiful old organ that needs repaired stored in the basement and they were thinking about selling it. I hope not, it should be restored and kept in Wellsville.

I have a few comments to those who feel that gambling is the way to go in our state.Utah has never had gambling and yet their schools produce great scholars.Their government makes do with the monies they obtain legaly or they do with out!!!The only thing gambling does is and it does it well is to take monies from the poor who think they can get rich from one more spin and instead get poorer from it.I know from working near the track and off site betting places how alluring it is to put that money into those machines thinking that you can get rich fast.Yes it is possible to get money from betting look at the V F W and American Legion in Chester they got enough money from the poor to give Wellsville a new Police cruiser wow!!!But at whose expense?People who were dumb enough to put thir hard earned dollars into a machine who now have lost their homes perhaps and are looking for a government hand out!!!There is no cure for gambling except to stop it and thats what we all need to realize.All this thing well do is break up homes when dads and moms play machines while the kids go without.It is big bussiness but it is the devils bussiness and if you are religous or not you still need to see it as what it is.Mountaineer is getting rich on those who lose and the odds are against winning!!!Do you really want money that has been taken away from families who need it?
Sure its their choice to lose their money but should we legalize it so that it makes it right to take it?

There is alot of buildings in Wellsville which could qualify under it.People could get tax breaks for restoring the old historic buildings if they had someone who could write one. Hmm wonder who would know about this and would love to make it a summer project to find out how to do this next year?Maybe its someone who once lived in Wellsville but left because Wellsville soon forgets those who fought for it when no one else would.That person would do the leg work for nothing only for the experience if just asked.But most of you who read this page won't know who I'm talking about or even what because the most important thing to you is not losing to Southern!!So go about your average day and let another thing slip through your fingers while buildings get torn down that once ment alot in Wellsville in the past.

Normally, I don't leave comments...but to the juvenile who thinks it is a true embarassment to lose to Southern Local, I have a few things to say. Number one three of your starters live in Southern Local district. (Including your quarterback) Second, I'm sure you were not suited up and playing on the field that night. I credit those Wellsville boys for not giving up. I would say that those kids have more class than you as an adult. You should learn by example. Finally, Southern Local has worked hard to get where they are now and they deserve every win they earn. Congratulations Southern Local you are a true class act.
I do agree. Southern has been down for so long it is about time that they start winning. They have not had a good coach in the most recent years and the coach that is there now seems to have gotten Southern back on track. Hats off to Southern Local.

If my memory serves me right. I believe Southern Local was in support of the Tigers when they was making there run in the playoffs a few years ago.That is called good sportsmanship. I think a lot of the tiger fans thought they could jump in this league and take title after title. Not the case. It is a lot more difficult than you all expected. Good Luck to the Tigers for the rest of the season. And to the Indians, keep up the good work!

I think there should be casinos in every town. Who cares if people want to throw away their money? The guy who made the comparison to beer joints is right. If you are going to stop sin then you need to shut down everybody who sells it. Zorro needs to get real.
You know alchol is not good for you I don't drink but I use to sell it and I hated doing so!!Everyone has the right to put into their bodies what they will but the gambling places are not a drink!!!I never touched the stuff in my life and from what I've seen i wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!I've also seen gambling and I do know its effects and just like alchol it can become addicting.It is all the things I described and more I wasn't addicted but could have been.Why legalize something that preys upon the weak use your heads!!!No one tells you to drink and no one tells you to gamble but unlike alchol which you can see gambling addiction is hidden.You don't see the gambling person staggering down the street or slurring their words.But it is real!But it's ok go ahead vote it in and see where your tax dollars really go!!!Right down the tubes with more people on the welfare rolls than our area can handle!!Or worse yet spending their welfare checks on those machines.I'd much rather have something in my hand that I can buy for my hard earned dollar instead of going to the state or some rich guys pockets!!
As for the section 106 money it could help the old Liberty Theater restore that organ as well as the building.You know what I had told you people for years about grant monies but you wouldn't listen now I've learned how to write them and I am willing to help next summer depending on who runs for office.It's time for Wellsville to get out of its rut and if no one with intelligence runs against Surace there is no sence in my coming to help.I'm tired of the same old same old. I usually dont post here but for you 12:10am I will. Of course posting anonymous. but thats fine not everyone has the guts to post their name with a comment. anyway, The mayor and the other guys are out there doing a great job with these games. Everyone is learning as we go. We are only trying to bring something to the people who DO enjoy being able to sit at home and either listen or watch the game. If you dont like it you dont have to watch it. But there are people out there that appreciate being able to sit in their nice warm homes and still see or hear the game. THose are the people who we are doing this for. It doesnt matter what you try to do there is always someone who beleives that they can do it better. Then why arent you doing it. Why dont you come to the game and give YOUR play by play. Id be glad to give you the mic. Im not being smart here either. Any help that we can get is greatly appreciated. Just dont knock the ones who ARE doing their part for the people at home who might not be able to get out to the games.
Oh yeah and the low budget comment,, thats right we are very low budget. everything that we do is done at low cost. but you know what. we are still doing it no matter what.
And for the ones who think its embarrasing for Wellsville to lose to Southern, come on.. its a game people.. someone has to lose... I am at every game and these kids are playing their A**'s off and for you to make a comment like that is just wrong. You ask why I am not doing it? You are the one with the radio station, you are the one running the show not me. I work full time and don’t claim to have a radio station. I just don’t understand how someone can go out and call play by plays and don’t have a clue what play just went down. I don’t care what you say it’s the truth the people calling the play by plays don’t have a clue what is going on. That is like me going out to a cheerleading competition and being a judge on the panel. I don’t know what to look for therefore I wouldn’t be good at that job. The people doing it for you sucks at what they are doing. You cant even watch the video, I tried many times but fall over from laughing. It is like a circus not a football game. If any of you haven’t watched it I recommend that you do if for anything a good laugh.
P.S. I know it can be done better. Start by getting someone who actually knows something about football.

I wouldn’t put much stock in that attack on you, the station (WKMX), or the quality of the video. Nor would I pay much attention to the remarks made towards the fellows that call the plays.
After all, (the only one you have to impress) using the technology that you’re using (is me), because I’m the best there is in this Ohio Valley when it comes to computers.
And I must say that your doing a fine job, and that you have impressed me with your knowledge of computers and the interlacement of RF Signal, Cellular, Satellite, Packet Streaming, (TCP) / (UDP) Server and Software Management and more…
Just keep on broadcasting and as for the play-by-play action I think those fellows are doing a fine job, (Keep up the good work!!).

Hey Matt, We have a serious problem here in my neighborhood in Wellsville. STRAY CATS!!! I believe that there are at least 25 cats that wander aound my block and are living in a run down garage and a vacant house that they enter through a hole in the foundation. Ive called city hall and my neighbors have called the health department and no one wants to help they just say that they are aware of the problem. I have mulch and sand on my property and you can imagine what they are doing to it. Yesterday I went out on my back porch and spotted 3 cats on the cover of my pool trying to get water that had accumulated there from the rain. Some people that I talk to say to poison or shoot them. Its not their falt that they are in this prediciment and I would never want them to suffer a painfull death. I would even help pay for the cost of removing them. I just dont know what else to do. Last week my neighbor told me that he saw one of them eating a kitten because they are hungry and are eating their young.

Does anyone know anything about an incident that took place at the Busy Bee tavern on Saturday night that sent a man to the hospital in an ambulance? Heard one of our Wellsville Fireman was throwing the punches.
As for the WKMX football game stuff--I suggest cutting them a break. These people have started a forward-looking business in a small town, and they are attempting to bring something to local football fans that they cannot get elsewhere. You can't expect a small digital radio station to produce game coverage like you're used to on network television. I'm sure they do the best they can. Again, cut 'em a break.
As for Sparky--
I've known the man for several years, and his computer cred is valid with me. Perhaps a story would work best:
I met a guy a couple years ago who works for a large corporation in Pittsburgh. Somehow in casual conversation it came up that I was a friend of Sparky Miller--at which point the guy's mouth dropped open. "Wait a minute," he said. "You mean to tell me you actually know Sparky Miller? THE Sparky Miller?" When I said yes, the guy proceeded to talk about Sparky as if he were some kind of spiritual guru or digital cult leader--one that he'd only heard about but did not recognize as a real human being. He was shocked to hear that Sparky lived in our area, assuming instead (I presume)that he lived on some distant ethereal plane on an unknown world.
Take whatever you want from that story. I do know that Sparky is known far and wide, and I'm glad to be counted among his friends. This digital world we live in is a dangerous place, and I know I can count on Sparky to help watch my back. He is one of the good guys; that means something to me.
To 2:07 with the cats--Yikes! It sounds like you are at a feline crisis point. From what I've heard, neither the county health department nor the county animal control people will be much help to you. You might try talking to the people who run the animal shelter in Wellsville. Connie Carmichael, I believe, is involved with that. You might also bring it to the attention of Mayor Surace, who should be able to recommend some course of action. I would not get involved with attempting to poison the cats. That's an ugly business any way you cut it. I'd try the mayor. If he doesn't help, try to get in touch with Connie. The problem will only get worse unless something is done.

Not to mention we see what you did to the computers in Wellsville, they never worked a bit. You haven’t taken 1 computer class in your life and you certainly have a lot to learn when it comes to computers. I happened to be at the Busy B on Saturday and you are jumping to conclusions, the person that was sent to the hospital had instigated four fights prior to being sent to the hospital. The fourth on being with someone that was trying to break up the third and once it was broke up then assaulted the person twice that did send him to the hospital. If you are going to drink and try to start fights don't go crying to mommy when you can't cash the check that you wrote!!!
I, for one, thoroughly enjoy the WKMX broadcasts of the game. Due to family obligations, I cannot make it to the games this year and WKMX's webcast has been a lifesaver.
No, the announcers aren't pros and you can tell...but that's okay by me. The way they do their commentary makes me feel like I'm sitting in front of them in the stands and they're just three guys commenting on the game. I'm sure they'll improve as they get more time in.

Furthermore, I just can't believe someone would actually gripe about WKMX. Do you know how many Division 6 schools have a radio station dedicated to their games and their games alone? I would venture a guess that we are one of few.

I have heard Surace broadcast these games. What a joke, he is so stupid he can't even talk. To tell you the truth if it wasn't for the other guys always covering for him you would think it was a 5 year old kid talking. He is so bad I turned it off. If thats the best that station has give it up, Surace does nothing but make an ass of himself.
why is it in wellsville you have to chain your dog up and have tags for thembut the cats can run free smell up your land and scratch your car up from climbing all over it and nothing is done! I am so tired of the cats running loose I have a new car covered with scratches thanks to the cats!

There is absolutely no way I could catch these cats they are to wild and wont come near anyone believe me Ive tried.Unless maybe I would buy a animal trap. But I dont think that Angels for animals would want me bringing these wild cats in. I said that I would never poison them because not only is it illegal ( which no one would know who did it anyway nor would anyone care) but i just couldn't live with myself if I did something like that. Thanks Sparky and Matt.. and all of those people out there that help with the radio station. I have no plans on taking anything negative said here about this to heart. Like I said we are doing this for the people who enjoy it and cant make it to the games. And we will continue to do it for them. We are all having a great time doing this and you cant knock that. NO we arent pros at it. BUt again this is something that hasnt happened here before. With high hopes better things will happen with the station and it will grow. But it can only happen with the positive efforts of the community and the people who are helping us with what we are doing.
And Sparky I thank you for all of the help that you give the station and the broadcasts.. We really couldnt do it without you.. You are very valuable to the efforts here.
So to those of you that enjoy the games and the other broadcasts, keep listening there are some other things coming this way.
For those of you who dont like it. There are other stations that are MUCH STRONGER than mine that im sure you can listen to instead.
Just remember.. this is a first for all of us. we didnt come here from ESPN to broadcast the games. We are all still in a huge learning process and I am glad to have these guys beside me doing the play by plays and all of the other help that I get,

I'm for real!!And when i did live in the Ville ignored me when I said that money was available all we had to do was find someone who could do the grants.Well I found out personaly how to apply for the grants myself.I have seen many areas such as Campbell get section 103 monies to restore many of their old dwellings.Who am I if any of you have any intelligence you can figure it out!!With the emphasis on intelligence.I have only two years left and then I'm hoping to be out of this area entirely.Zorro is what i feel I am because I'm never in the Ville very long these days i swoop in and swoop out.I don't care too much for what happens there in the Ville because I no longer live there.There are many reasons for it but I have found that my horizons have been enlarged because of it.When you live in a depressed area sometimes it effects you to the very soul.Sometimes closed minds effect the very soul and cut deeper than a two edged sword.If you don't know who i am yet well let it be.One day next summer I may be standing outside the Old Liberty theater taking pics of the buildings on the street to do a picture history to send in to the government for the section 106.Stop by say hi for old times sake but don't expect me to be the same person I once was.Times change and so do people and I don't need the Ville to realize my potential any more.

I have an undergrad degree in English, (not to mention a Master's degree), manage a group of 20 English-speaking writers across this country and in India, and can assure you, Mayor Surace speaks perfectly good English. That's the best you can come up with? The cat problem is being addressed in the near future with some outside help. The animal shelter is managed by 5 key people with the assistance of many who work daily to improve the quality of animal care in the village. They are aware of the problem as is the mayor. The expense of cleaning up the messes of other people is a great one, not to mention the time it takes. The first step is for individuals to take responsibility for their felines that they lose interest in when they are no longer cute little kittens. There is an initial plan in place that has the potential to be successful if people can exercise patience. The Humane Society of Columbiana County is the first and best contact for assistance. Help is also on the way for low cost spay and neuter programs. For advice contact info for the shelter officers will be made available at village hall effective noon today. The best solution is a long term solution.

Hey Zorba, The first thing that I must ask you is, Do you have a live? The second is what exactly is the height requirements for fences in the Village. And third why are you not complaining about all of the condemned homes and overgrown weeds on abandoned lots here in the "Ville" instead of complaining about the people who are investing a lot of money into their homes and trying to improve their own little piece of the "Ville". What are YOU doing? Well if you say that you occasionally zip in and then zip out of Wellsville..well... the only people who do that are the people who come to town and utilize our crack houses.
As far as "the rumor" goes, I can't verify or deny it...but it was posted that it was said during the game. People were talking about this rumor BEFORE the game...it seems to have taken on a life of its own. Supposedly it was said during practice before the game, then it was said at school....now apparently it was said at the game.
It's a rumor, folks...don't believe everything you hear.
That rumor needs to stop and put to rest. Nick Puckett almost didn't play at all because he didn't want to break his brothers record. Even though it was said in the paper, I knew well before it hit the paper. I work with a friend of the Puckett family. It is just a damn shame that after all that he and his family has gone through and all that he has accomplished that someone would want to post something so ignorant like that. Get real people. as much as I do not like Southern Local, I do have alot of friends that went to that school and i have nothing but respect for them because the way they played game. I do not know the kid personally, but I do have that respect for him because of the way he is playing the game. Not just him but the team as well. So I really do not care who said it, when it was said, how it was said and where it was said, it should stop right now and just let it go. My guess is someone thinking that they were trying to the right thing by posting that comment, but all it did was made people mad. Next time think before type and post.
I must live in my own little world all of the time, I was very surprized to see the new "skill" game room in town, maybe I don't get out enough. It seems like when the other area towns got those type of game rooms it was all in the paper, was it in the paper about us getting one and I just somehow overlooked it? I don't really understand the difference between those skill games and the ones across the river, can someone enlighten me.

Oh and by the way there is some one who served their time in Iraq has been home from there for almost three weeks now and nothing has been said in any of the local papers.He was greated when he got off the plane when he arrived into the states for the first time in New England with a big dinner.Has anyone in the Ville noticed him other than friends no!!Now he wouldn't want the hoopla but I think anyone returning from their second stint in Iraq should get some recognition in their home town.But its the Ville!!!
Find the service man home on leave and you might find me in a round about way lol.

Please take 10:32 coomment off the board, it is insulting and improper. I can not believe some one would even post such a thing and MATT why would you leave it on the board ? Why moore poeple are not complaining is above me.People on this site complain over some stupid stuff but nobody is up in arms about 10:32 comment. MATT you have pulled other comments alot less insulting off the board but you are willing to let this one stay and let that comment insult the family. you should be ashamed of yourself.

i really like this site. wellsville is like a hush town there is never anything in the papers about wellsvilles raids or fires but plenty of the mayor and politics the same person must run everything in wellsville, what do you think?
I would like to congratulate the Daw Middle School volleyball team and the football team for a fine season. The kids displayed excellent sportsmanship during all the games I saw and out of all the games I only missed one away volleyball game. Our kids can be very proud of the following that they have, not only did we always have more fans on our side during home games it appeared that we had at least as many if not more fans in the stands during our away games, so to the parents of these young athletes I say way to go, lets keep supporting our kids.
*I agree,the "10:32 comment" should be removed just for respect and all for the family,so please do.And there has been other things in the Newspaper about Wellsville other then the Mayor and Politics..Remember when they tryed to bust up Slammers with their Raid?..They didnt get anything but,they still tryed.
