Because she thinks she IS SOMEBODY special, that's why. Just like she does in Wellsville. She can't write, so she may as well give it up.
Connie Carmichael is a fine writer and artist who is one of the founding members of the Ohio River Life group. So if you really give it a think, you might be able to figure out why she posts her work here.
As others have noted, it's amazing the extent to which Wellsville people will go to put others down--especially their own townsfolk. Envy, spite, and all-around negativity--will it ever change?
Connie is saying that the true meaning of thanksgiving is fading into the past.
The way I see it is sarcasam. Bush has our troops fightiong a war and the pic represents one of our soldiers saying gee, I'm quite thankful to be here on this holiday with a lower leg cut off and a bullet in my chest and my nose bleeding. "Boy thanks George W."

You might want to cut Anonymous 8:00 PM a little slack. Apparently this individual was born with an optic nerve that runs down to the rectum. This gives that individual a crappy outlook on life in general. Hopefully, some day this person will check into the hospital and have an optorectomy (which is a process of cutting the optic nerve that runs down to the rectum). This should cure the problem.
Once again Matt, I reiterate, you are soon going to have to censor and post only the comments that provide some sort of intellectual remarks. It's obvious by looking at the times that some douche bag goes from post to post and just makes negative, downgrading comments to and about everyone. I would rather you censor and not post his shit. Not only that, but the spineless puke always signs anonymous.

Once again, I say everyone who has nothing to say other than "It's great" or "It sucks" should pipe down.
I saw one post here that actually tried to understand the work. The rest appear not to get it.
No matter how bad it gets, everyone has something to be thankful for. Being alive, for one.
Now now children, we're all entitled to our opinions. If someone dislikes Connie lets not beat up on him/her, it's kind of ironic to put someone down for putting someone down.
