I was down in the Ville last monday to watch the big Ohio State game and realized that the center lines on the roads need repainted badly.I hope that it's on the agenda this year to have them repainted.The lighting of the streets are so dim you can hardly see anyone on the sidewalks walking as well.If someone were to run out in front of a motorist they would be right out in the street before the motorist would see them.This would alse enhance the criminals ability to go undetected as well,but there is no crime in the Ville right?

The Center Pharmacy sign is nice,but what is really nice are the great people that work in there. Starting with Joe Amais meier,Koopman,Vicky,Denise,that place RULES!!! You talk about a friendly atmosphere and just down to earth good people who will go out of their way to help you,I suggest you stop in,even just to say hello. The whole gang,not just the few I mentioned above are just great people. I've dealt with many a pharmacies in my life time,but this place truly does have and holds that hometown friendly atmosphere feeling just like Robert's Funeral Home. They really do and will go out of their way to make sure you get what you need and if they don't have it on hand that day,they will have it that day or at the latest,the very next day for you! And the prices are very fair and reasonable compared to some of these big chain stores that leave you believing they are giving you the best prices. I am glad to see that Joe and all are doing fine. It's still great to see Larry and Tom in there at times,too. After all,they started that friendly atmosphere and it has carried over. P.S. NICE BUCK Joe!!! It's definitely a trophy buck in my eyes!!!
I totally agree with poster 11:24! Something else I would like to add to it is that Center Pharmacy doesn't play the 'there will be a wait, so feel free to shop around the store to buy more than what you came in here for' game.

yes the lines do need repainted and hopefully this time they will be straight unlike the ones on Wells Ave. Was that person drunk when they painted those!!!!
About who painted those lines if you check into it I believe that was the East Liverpool street Dept. Wellsville paid for the paint and manpower.
I remember stealing diet pills from the pharmacy in the 80's and getting a full head of steam and running naked through the streets. Good times.

Nice pic. Does anyone know what the W 14 means on the sign? I hope you all shop and continue to shop there to keep the store open. With the $4.00 perscriptions round now it will probably be hard for them to compete. There are far to many empty buildings in our cities, towns, etc. But then again East Liverpool officials are working on a new 'parking fine' scheme.

I think most people would be surprised to find out that the prices at Center Pharmacy are often cheaper than the bigger chain drug stores. If you need a prescription, call around and price them.

I try to do as much business as possible in town.I get as many meds as possible at Center.I like the personl touch they offer on what to do and not to do.That is important.

Reader's,our eyes must be playing tricks on us or else Matt took a picture of another Center Pharmacy,maybe in Wellsville,New York! I frequent the pharmacy and the sign on this site is not the same sign that is hanging up there now. Maybe it was taken at an earlier time,for reasons unbeknowing to me. If you have time,ride by and look at the sign. There is NO W 14 on the sign or is there a canopy hanging above the business next door in which we can clearly see in this picture. Maybe Matt can explain this one to us. Trick photography maybe,but,I doubt it. Maybe he ran out of film! I doubt that,too! I am sure it is an older picture of the pharmacy instead of a more recent one.

Maybe the Christmas light on the pole distracted my thought and you are right ,that is Bush's Insurance Co. canopy two doors over. I was off a door! Anyways,I believe Joe is using that building for storage now,..the one in the middle.

Just my opinion but I think the W 14 means Wellsville Room 14. He usually has a number on each room!!!!!LOL
Correct 5:19. I added the w-14 to signify Wellsville Room number 14. Most of the Wellsville rooms (if not all) have their respective number displayed somewhere on the picture.

I see where 4 Wellsville Council seats are up next year. We must elect 4 in May of this year in the primary. Then this coming November elect the 4 that will serve for another 4 years. Dinch, Cataldo, Soldano, and McMahon are up for election. I have not made up my mind, but we must elect someone who cares, and will not be araid to speak up and do their job. Who is worth keeping, I am curious how people feel.

excuse me but what problem is she having now? it seems to me that she has turned Wellsville Schools around since she has been there. Why can't you people shut the F*ck up and give someone a chance before you publically bash them. you all bashed her when she got the treasurer's position and it seems to me that you were wrong because whether or not you think she was qualified for the job she did what she or any other treasurer with more experience was supposed to do, "get Wellsville out of the red".
Traina can't do the Wellsville job without keeping the old treasurer on the payroll to help her, now she wants to be commissioner AND TREASURER? I don't care if she is a nice lady, this county deserves better! This has Wellsville all over it, people figuring out ways to pocket as much public money as possible and get away with it. Unbelievable!! The rest of the county needs to wake up!
Funny. Everyone is always bashing the 'political mentality', but yet when new blood comes in with no political experience, you bash that person also. It is no wonder why we can't get good people to run for office. Who wants to set them self up for this type ridicule?
Whether you are happy or not that Commissioner Triana was appointed to the position, the fact is that she is now our Commissioner. Instead of bashing her, it's time to support her and encourage her to make good decisions for this county.

I agree with a comment earlier, how can one person do two full time jobs. why not give one of those jobs to an unemployed person in the county, instead of the rich getting richer.
someone may have been there to help her when she needed it but Becky wasn't the one who worked their ass off until 8:00 and 9:00 at night! Penny is a hard working woman who will not stop at second best. she will do both jobs to the fullest and if she can't I'm sure she will resign from Wellsville.
This is in response to 7:52 a.m. Penny did not turn wellsville around ken halbert can in and did the job they hired him to do he got the school levy passed and cut the heads of alot of teachers this is what saved the wellsville schools not penny. and the last i heard yes becky was still on the payroll

Matt, are you going to endorse any local candidates in the upcoming primary? The local papers do not because they are chicken shit. The larger papers such as the Vindicator does and The Plain Dealer, just curious to see if you will endorse anyone on this site. I think it would be nice if you did.

I usually get around to letting my preferences be known in races that I know something about.
It's not always a good thing for papers to endorse candidates. How, once they do, can they objectively cover the person who wins? The Review did, in fact, endorse Blackwell, while the Morning Journal endorsed Strickland.
They are giving back what they took away in Wellsville to get out of the hole. It won't be long the State will be back in for the 3rd time. Keep spending. The Mayor we have is over paid, and if he was paid what he's worth, he would owe money back to the Village.
Someone new please run for Council or Mayor. If not, we will back trouble and the bar's will be running the town instead of the SOI. Oh i forgot that's a bar to.
The only person that talked politics at the S.O.I. was McClelland, and he doesn't go there anymore. The S.O.I. doesn't run the town, you need to give that bullshit up.

S.O.I is the political hub of Wellsville, everyone knows that. Majority of the town's so called "leaders" past and present were involved in the S.O.I. Sorry to interrupt all the Godfather talk, but there is a serious issue at hand. February 2nd there is a benefit at the Wellsville High School from 4 until 7pm. It is to benefit Tim Raffa's wife, basically his family. She is suffering after a severe medical problem and the family is in need of the community's support. Tim is a great guy who has been around the WFD for years and serves as an EMT. It's a 5 dollar rigatoni dinner, all the proceeds go to Tim's family. Time for everyone to make it a point to do something to help someone in their area in need. Tim's a great guy and a good turnout would be great. Not sure who is organizing this, but it should be on EVERY reader of the ORL's agenda for that day. We spend enough time bashing the area and it's people, let's turn out to support a fellow reader and Wellsville man.

My wife works with Tim and she had told me what happened. She really didn't want to go into details about what happened and I still don't know. All I know and from what she was told that she is awake and responding. i think that is great. Tim is really nice and so is his wife. I hope that things get better for the Raffa family.
Keep spending Wellsville. Give all back. It won't be long the State will be back. Keep up the spending.

They are working on the newspaper ads and stuff... flyers are circulating and the FD and Teacher's association is organizing... i guess there are presale tickets available at the FD. I work that day and won't be able to attend but I plan to buy two tickets anyways to donate. Spread the word.

Joe Soldano is proof that not all Italians at Village hall are bad. He is a good person from a good family. I think with more experience, he will be a good leader. He is learning well and can be a good leader in time. I think he can be trusted.

I have passed the word around to the Management where Tim works at, and I am SURE that there are people there that are and will be more than willing to come to Wellsville for his benefit.

I don't know if anybody in Wellsville is thinking about running for Mayor, but if there isn't, I think T. Cataldo, J. Soldano, or D. Dinch should run. The rest of Council are deadweight. Please someone other than Surace run. Wellsville can't take anymore of his doings.
