The bigger picture

by M. Stewart
Thank GOD someone is on top of things. Sarah Palin (hentsfourth known here as "Sarah!") has announced that we need to continue to support our North Korean allies.

It's about time somebody thought in terms of adhering to a policy, as it were, of the bigger picture to sanction, in terms of national security issues that we can take for this great country of ours, as a means of protecting our citizens and regaining our proud heritage that our Founding Fathers meant us to have in this great country throughout this land of ours we are sworn to love and protect, as we all know, and to stand up for the good things we are guaranteed by the Constitution of this great country throughout the world, no matter where Putin rears his ugly head.

Speaking with Glenn Beck about the recent North Korean attack on the South Korea, Sarah! said, "We're not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do. This speaks to a bigger picture here that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policies, but obviously we've gotta stand with our North Korean allies."

I completely agree with Sarah! Before we do anything, we must talk to our Chinese allies and try to convince them to back Kim Jong Il for an all-out invasion of South Korea. It makes perfectly good sense, especially now that we have a Marxist Kenyan in the White House.

We failed to put a stop to Korean aggression in World War I, and now we're paying the price. It's time we get these Southern bastards, dontcha think? If Sarah! were president today, she would would order a newcular attack on Soul. Hit 'em where it hurts, baby! Yeah!

And what the heck is going on in Washington with the socialist health care? The Obama administration finally has tipped its hand. The real motive behind ObamaCare is to keep government health care away from White People. This became clear when Republican representative-elect Andy Harris, who centered his campaign on the repeal of ObamaCare socialism, arrived in D.C. to collect his federal medical benefits. Rightly so, he complained about having to wait 28 days for his federal benefits to kick in. What's he supposed to do for health care for 28 more days?

My friends, this is just one of many moves against White People in the United States. We can't sit by and let a Marxist Kenyan dictator who took over this county through election fraud get away with this. If you ask me, it's time for an old-fashioned lynching, and I think Sarah! and Glenn Beck should organize something together in Washington, only this time a little closer to the White House, if you get what I mean.

Hey, we don't call it the White House for nothing!

It's high time we move on these atheist libruls and bring prayer back into our schools. One thing we know for sure is that Jesus would have thrown the first stone. So don't just sit there and eat turkey and watch football on this day of Thanksgiving. That's what THEY want you to do. Instead, go outside and gather some stones! We're going to need all the ammo we can get in the coming war.

Facts????!!!! I am, so to speak, a man who has, if you will, access to the Internet, which is, some might say, in this great country of ours, the place where facts!!!!! are, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who would throw the first stone in this Korean Crisis of this great century of ours, in defense of our principles of freedom and democracy and all they represent in this great country of ours, a complete potentiality of the eventual discussion of FACTS as we know them in the world today.

You might be on to something with this post though. Always nice when we can jest about the happenings in Korea. I'm sure the lives that will be lost fighting againgst the lunatic running North Korea will be laugh-worthy too. And i'm sure you will have some left wing humor posted about that too. Keep burying your head in the sand. Your President is doing a great job.

Wow, that was really funny. Just as funny as that long rant you posted when Obama said "I have been to 57 states so far, I think one left to go."

Or when he said "I don't have all the facts but the Cambridge police acted stupidly" Yeah, you really nailed him on that one.

Or when he said "My grandmother was a typical white person"

Or "The Middle East is obviously an issue that has plagued the region for centuries."

Or "The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system."

Or "What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith..."

Or "In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed." --on a Kansas tornado that killed 12 people

Or "Let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel's. It will be a strong friend of Israel's under a McCain...administration. It will be a strong friend of Israel's under an Obama administration. So that policy is not going to change."

Or..... oh. . . never mind

M; my comment was not made in defense of Ms Palin nor did I say she would be better President than Mr Obama. The point is that you made a long rant about a simple slip of the tongue that she quickly corrected but do not go off on all the gaffes made by the current President.

This country needs a fair an honest discourse to address all the difficult issues that it faces. Biased and distorted articles, even those on an isolated blog, do not help us in any way and in fact, they hinder our progress.

BTW, she never said that she could see Russia from her house.

'Tis very sad that you think it is so important to discuss the issues that affect E Liverpool with great seriousness but yet use baseless personal attacks to ridicule those that disagree with you on critical national issues such as Ms Palin and Tea Party members.

And since your positions are so poorly developed and nearly impossible to defend, you are diminished to poorly executed attempts at humor as a defense mechanism. Sad indeed.

You imply that you have made some sort of lucid defense of mindless Tea Party nonsense, yet in fact you offer nothing but complaints about my blatantly light and satiric work. Unlike you, I am an active writer who has published both serious and satiric work for decades. Your ignorance of my work is not my problem. I'm not about to explain my entire world view to someone who demands it in a comment on a satiric post. Do the work, learn some things, make a point or two, and maybe then someone will take you seriously. All you have done so far is come into someone else's house and insult them with nothing but undeserved arrogance. Yet I let you use my blog to spread your shit. So go ahead, say something. While you're at it, let us know why anyone should listen to you.

For the Palin supporters... forgetting things Sarah Palin has said or not said, she was voted in to govern the state of Alaska. She quit. Why would anyone think she could be a candidate to lead this country?

I'm not trying to be a smart ass. I'm serious - WHY would someone vote for her given the fact she was either unwilling or unable run a state?

Artie--
Let's face it. Sarah Palin as a candidate for president of the United States is a joke. The only people who would actually support someone like this for such high office either have no respect for the office or have no idea what the job actually is. This isn't a matter of political ideology; it doesn't get that far. Palin is little more than a reality show diva who isn't qualified for any position of authority--certainly not the presidency. She quit as governor of Alaska because she saw a chance to get famous and make a lot of money on television. She mouths a political ideology that she clearly doesn't understand because she realizes she can make money doing it. The sad part of it is that the Fox network and the intellectually vulnerable people the network influences have convinced her that she can be taken seriously as a political candidate. It is the worst kind of profit exploitation I've ever seen. But that's what Rupert Murdoch's political media empire has always been about.

The United States is home to a large population of profoundly ignorant and gullible people who imagine that anyone can be the president. These folks see Palin as one of their own. The establishment Republicans--i.e., the super rich--understand more than anyone how to manufacture a figurehead president who can be manipulated, packaged, and sold to American public. If, by chance, Palin would end up in the White House, the Republican Party would never allow her to make any decisions on her own, and we should all be thankful for that.

Regardless of what anyone feels about Barack Obama's politics, rational people cannot compare someone like Sarah Palin to him or any other legitimate national politician or candidate. The real sad thing is that the network ratings people won't tell her that to her face. I'm sure she wouldn't understand it if they did. The Fox News people--the very ones behind her popularity with the "folk"--laugh at her behind her back. Even the ideological crazies like Beck and Limbaugh don't take this woman seriously. They are willing to let her embarrass herself on a daily basis because they understand that association with Palin brings them the kind of gullible audience they need to keep the money flowing their way.

The Tea Party and its television network have done a tremendous disservice to our country and the world by selling politics to the lowest common denominator--the very same people the Founding Fathers didn't trust with political power. The wisdom behind the Electoral College becomes obvious in times like these.

This country needs a president who is not a career politician, is not out to get rich and famous and who shares founding father ideals and principles. Obama and the horde of lefties do not qualify by a long shot. Almost all republicans and democrats in congress are included in this assessment. We need senators and congressmen who are not experienced in the criminal affairs and activities of the government. Just look at Charlie Rangel. In other words we need some HONEST people in government to run things. I'm personally not a big fan of Sarah Palin, but I'd vote for Hank Hill before I'd vote for another Bush or Obama.

I don't know where M get's his information, but he's doing a disservice to himself and this community by putting out this trash. Obama will be a one term president if the American people know what's good for them. His problem right now among many others, like Nancy Pulosi, is he thinks he's really doing a good job. Nancy Pulosi will probably go down in history as not only the first woman speaker of the house and the most disliked woman on the planet. These two trip over their own egos.

It doesn't matter how you slice it the people currently in office are not the solution, they are the problem. It'll take time but the answer is to vote the bad ones out.

M is too busy hating everyone to see the forest for the trees. He never publishes articles and items that are against his leftist slant. If you want to know what harm state sponsored education does to your children here's a really good example.

I'd be surprised if this makes it onto the blog.

I think Matt and his fellow Dems are upset that Mrs. Palin has surpassed Obama as a Rock Star... Matt the picture you and the Left paint of her can be painted the same with BHO... It all depends on which source you watch or whose blogs you read... Bud, do you not realize the republicans don't take office until January and Nancy is still Mr. Speaker of the House??? Let's forget about the 25 days and focus on the years that your Party has had control... Please answer your own question!!! Where are the jobs???

"I think Matt and his fellow Dems are upset that Mrs. Palin has surpassed Obama as a Rock Star"

As a fellow Dem, I can say that is so far off the mark. I couldn't care less about her or anybody's "rock star" status. If Palin wants to earn fame and fortune on books and book tours, great! If she wants to earn fame and fortune on FOX News and TLC, great! If she wants to earn fame and fortune at speaking engagements, great! I would never, ever hold that against her or anyone else. I can admire and respect the fact that she has the ambition to be the biggest "rock star" she wants to be.

But, I still don't know why anyone would want to vote for someone for president who walks away from the governorship. It truly defies logic.

Bub, The repubs made jobs a large part of their campaigns.Within the last week the house voted on an extension of unemployment benefits. The repubs voted unanimously against it. It failed due to a lack of a two thirds margin. So, that begs the question where's the jobs? Corp. profits are just short of prerecession levels, the largest corps don't pay any taxes, and the Bush tax cuts will most likely be extended to richest of the rich. So, Bub where's the jobs? Oh. I don't want a rock star for my president. I prefer someone with a true drive to enrich our country and not their bottom line.

For the record, I'm an independent voter who is completely opposed to the direction the Republican Party has gone to accommodate the tea party people. Both parties pander to certain groups for votes, but the Republicans have sold out the party to the lunatic fringe, which is particularly unfortunate. It will come back to bite them in the long run.

I agree with you about Palin's ability to cash in on fame. After all, Americans worship fame. Those who advocate her for the presidency are never going to answer your question. How could they?

-the very same people the Founding Fathers didn't trust with political power. The wisdom behind the Electoral College becomes obvious in times like these.

First, the Founding Fathers devised a system that actually was designed for citizen representation, not for the elite ruling class or any type of royalty. A system that would allow and even encourage people from outside the system to run for public office.

And the Electoral College was designed to protect the smaller, more agrarian states from being over ruled by the larger, heavily populated states. Sorta like preventing New York from dominating a state like, oh, Alaska.

The United States is home to a large population of profoundly ignorant and gullible people who imagine that anyone can be the president.

Huh?
The tea party people are late comers. The fringe group that has controlled the Republican party for for the past 10 - 15 years has been the Radical Religious Right. They haven't gone away and they are working very hard to take control of the so called "tea party" as well.

The founders were a untrusting lot. They didn't trust institutions, the masses. the state government, the "national" government.

The masses were only entrusted to directly elect members of the House of Representatives. The states determined who their senators would be and the Electoral College elected the President. Various checks and balances were included in the Constitution having impact on all parts of government national and state. The veto was added but it was a compromise . Madison felt the state governments was a source of worry and wanted to be able to approve or disapprove state laws before they became laws. The veto was the compromise result which he didn't care for. He tried again when he presented his amendments which would later become the BORS.
He felt that the states and the masses via factions such as the radical religious right, the tea baggers and others of course, were the two biggest dangers to individual rights and freedoms. Church state separation was the check on the institution of religion which the founders didn't trust. No standing armies, etc.
