A canine killer in New Cumberland
by M. Stewart
The case of New Cumberland, West Virginia resident Jeffrey Nally is the stuff of horror films. According to the Review, “Nally is charged with kidnapping and 29 counts of cruelty to animals.” The county prosecutor said that the list of charges could grow as more evidence is discovered.
Police arrested Nally earlier this month after a woman reported that the defendant was holding her daughter prisoner in his home. The alleged kidnapping victim is described as his “girlfriend.” She told police that Nally had “physically and sexually abused her on numerous occasions since December.” He was under house arrest at the time as a result of domestic violence and illegal possession of firearms. The newspaper reports that Nally threatened to kill police, the girlfriend, and himself when he was arrested.
I refer you to the Review for further details of the alleged crimes. Suffice it to say that the charges involve multiple instances of canine mutilation, including the skinning of at least one animal. The prosecutor noted that killing animals in such a way “usually escalates to human victims.”
The relationship between Nally and his human prisoner is not clear. The newspaper refers to her as his “girlfriend,” which suggests a familiar relationship prior to the alleged forced detention. One cannot help but wonder how such a monster manages to acquire a girlfriend. Surely the details surrounding this grotesque relationship, should they ever be made public, will prove interesting.
And what of the canine victims? Where did he get them? Who supplied Nally with so many innocent victims? Or did he breed them himself to feed his sick passions. And what of his parents? What will they say of his rearing, his family life?
We are not surprised to hear such a macabre tale set in a distant metropolis, where the sheer size of the population is bound to produce the occasional madman, but in a small town like New Cumberland, such deviance is magnified.
Given the long list of infamous serial killers and mass murderers the human species has produced, we might conclude that Nally’s alleged bloodlust for animals does not compare with the masters, but taking pleasure in the murder of innocent victims—canine or human—delivers the same message.

It is both disturbing and instructive to realize that such creatures live among us and that madness can fester in the brains of our neighbors. As we drive down any street in any town, we must assume that families are going about the normal business of life. But truly, who can say what horrors are hidden behind the walls of even the most inconspicuous dwelling or what lies buried in the back yard?

He would answer peoples adds on "Craiglist". People handed over there unwanted pets to him thinking they may be going to a better place but indeed they were not. He WENT OUT OF HIS WAY to get animals to kill. He looked for them.
An east liverpool woman gave him EIGHT, yes 8!, puppies from different litters at different times.
This woman needs her head examined. You mean you wouldn't wonder WHY one person wanted eight puppies?? Oh, that's right...when you breed indiscriminately you don't CARE where the pups go; you just want RID of them!
I've been told his "hostage" went and picked up one of the puppies for him from a woman.
Channel 9 has done a good job of keeping up on this story; it's had interviews with his parents, the ELO woman who gave him pups, etc.
This guy is one sick person. The so called girlfriend is also questionable as far as her role in killing the puppies.
This is a truly horrible situation.
But, I'm bothered by the suspicion directed at the alleged girlfriend.
If you were being held or threatened by a deranged person, and had witnessed some of his crimes - maybe, just maybe- you would be terrified to report him because you are afraid you could be the next corpse buried in the yard. Or, you might be concerned that your family (mother, siblings, children) would somehow be targeted by the lunatic.
She could be culpable on some level, but she is not the villain in this story. Thank heavens her mother stepped in.
I can just imagine the things that go on in the hills and hollers behind Chester and Newell that we never hear about. Not to mention the things that go on at the bars and gambling halls on route 30.
the only thing that seperates the hills and hollers is a body of water. Same low lifes and scary shit happening in ELO. I guarantee it. Meth cooking in more places than you know in this area.
There are so many things wrong with this entire mess. Classic example of why human ignorance becomes an animals nightmare. If these people, who claim to love their pets, would spay and neuter then these pups would not have fallen into the hands of these sick, ignorant bastards. Yes, I believe they were in this together. Ads in the papers were answered by these two, usually the "female hostage" made the call and the eager asses that bred out of ignorance were more than happy to give the pups away.
I don't know about you, but, the FIRST time this creep tortured a pup would have been my Que to high-tail my ass out of there and to the nearest police facility. If she could tell her mom after 3 months of this, then she was able to tell before. I do not believe for a second that she is innocent. People of this nature attract each other.
Who in the hell meets a guy and moves in with him right away! Yeah, I know that everyone does it but, don't you think something would have shown up in his personality? I hope this sick bastard rots deep in the pit of hell. This is clearly a person who lacks a conscience of any kind. He would have eventually become bored with the howling of the tormented pups and soon desire the screams of a human.
Rot in Hell, Jeff Nally and take your lovely girlfriend with you.
My bestfriendsgirl: obviously it remains to be proven whether the girl was a victim but it seems a person would've had SOME opportunity to "escape" such a person. Time will tell as more details emerge.
That's "Fiend."
Not "Friend."
One letter can make a big difference.
